Mechanic (General)

This position requires 3+ years experience, 5+ years preferred. Must own tools and toolbox and be PA State Inspection Qualified. Preferred but not required, ASE Certified and Class A or B license.

Duties include:

  • Inspect vehicles annually and follow all state and local laws regarding state inspections

  • Maintain vehicle service records

  • Ability to use computer based software programming

  • Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and trailers

  • Ability to perform light, medium and heavy repairs to vehicles and trailers

  • Record and document work completed

  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using proper diagnostic test

  • Ability to use diagnostic code reading computers

  • Ability to find, read and understand operating manuals and technical drawings

  • Identify failing parts and replace with new parts

  • Ability to work with vendors and parts room manager to procure correct parts

  • Ability to repair, change, mount and balance tires using various machines

  • Ability to use specialized tools for measuring, repairing and replacing various parts

  • Ability to prioritize and complete task and repairs in a timely manner

  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions

  • Provide clear recommendations for repairs and issues

  • Schedule services for fleet vehicles per service schedule
